This adventure began in July 2002 with a Wilton class. The website launched in June 2006 in an attempt to keep my pictures organized, though some of my early favorites have never made on yet, hopefully one day I will find the “safe place” I tucked the prints away of the beloved Barbie cake. Grr.
I’m a little disenchanted with the blogging possibilities on the site so this baby was born. As some of you know, I love to blog so it’s practically a necessity!
I wish I could do this as a full time job, unfortunately baking and decorating is a neglected hobby most of the time! My junior helper tells me I should work at a bakery, but I spend far too much time ‘fiddling’ to meet a quota. That’s part of the fun.
Many people have asked “why?” would I spend so much time doing this, the honest answer, I enjoy it. The more honest answer – it’s like free therapy and at times paid therapy. There’s nothing better than creating something you’re proud of and pouring yourself into something along with the batter.
